Plutôt que de s’attacher à la recherche complète d’une collecte de données en vue d’une publication, les femmes scientifiques du 19è siècle prenaient en charge un seul aspect de la recherche : un inventaire, une traduction, une illustration, une préparation. Pour quelle raison ? Parce que, le plus souvent, elles ne pouvaient accéder aux colloques scientifiques officiels.
