Order of the Crown

Belgian honorary order instituted by the decrees of 15 October 1897 and 25 June 1898 under Leopold II. It became a colonial order in 1908. It is awarded for artistic, literary or scientific merits, in the sphere of commercial and industrial interests or for services rendered in the country or in Africa.
