De Anatomisch-Pathologische Vereniging van Brussel werd opgericht in 1857, onder de bescherming van de (Vrije) Universiteit van Brussel (die haar ook lokalen ter beschikking stelde voor de vergaderingen en een opslagruimte voor boeken en anatomische delen). Onder de oprichters zijn, onder andere: Louis Deroubaix, Gottlieb Gluge.
