There is an open position at the Leo Apostel Centre at VUB, a full-time PhD position on anti-mathematism and anti-abstractionism in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The selected PhD candidate will conduct original research on anti-mathematical and anti-abstractionist critiques developed by a natural philosopher of their choice. Particular attention may be given to the intellectual, philosophical, and cultural contexts in which objections to mathematical reasoning and abstraction emerged and evolved.
