Francqui Chair

Named after Emile Francqui.
The Francqui Foundation may invite Belgian scholars to stay at Belgian universities, to teach there and to participate in the scientific life of the Institution. The Board of Governors decides each year on the number of scholars to be invited. The Board of Directors appoints the holders of the Chairs. The subject of the teaching or work is determined by the holders of the Chairs, in agreement with the institution at which they will be guests. The courses consist essentially in the presentation of work on original research, excluding professional education, or vulgarisation. Chair holders determine the language of teaching.
