Below you will find information on how to edit or comment on existing notes. Both of these actions can only be done as a User! (What is a User?)

How to edit notes?

  • Click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the note. You can now edit the note.

Some editing rules

  • When you add or change something in a text, please put your contribution in the appropriate place in that text (not as a separate comment or intention at the bottom). Make sure that the text continues to flow; the text must remain a whole. The Bestor notes should not become a colourful collection of separate comments, but should form a seamless whole that can be expanded at any time.
  • Each User has the right to make edits and changes. So feel free to improve notes or comment on the discussion page.
  • Feel free to improve anything on a note, but provide arguments on the talk page as soon as you notice that someone disagrees with it (even if that person is wrong). Never be offensive or hurtful.
  • If you don't want your texts to be rigorously edited by others, don't post them on Bestor.
  • Do not start an edit war, where texts are changed over and over again. This is very unpleasant for the reader.
  • Making edits to another user's Userpage is considered rude. (What is a Userpage?)

How to comment on a note?

  • Click on the discussion tab at the top of the note. This takes you to the discussion page. Here you can write just like on a normal page. Finally sign your note with your User-signature. ((What is your user signature?)?)

Some rules when commenting

  • Comments are made at the bottom of discussion pages - at least under the comment to which you are responding.
  • Changing other people's comments - even if it's only a comma - causes irritation for many. So don't do that.
  • Do not leave your comments anonymous.
