Exposition Wiener Kreis at UCL
Jusqu'au 30 juin, vous pouvez visiter l'exposition Cercle de Vienne. Pensée exacte au bord du précipice. Ce « Groupe de Vienne », également connu sous le nom de « Wiener Kreis », comprend des penseurs tels que Moritz Schlick, Rudolf Carnap et Otto Neurath. Ce groupe d’intellectuels a eu une influence significative sur la l’empirisme logique et les sciences de l’ingénierie contemporaines. L’exposition illustre l’histoire de ce Cercle de sociabilité savante. Elle retrace les destins de ses protagonistes, qui ont été victimes des ravages du populisme et des persécutions antisémites qui frappèrent la Vienne des années 1930.

Ce projet était devenu urgent car la construction du chemin de fer belge nécessitait un fuseau horaire national uniforme afin que les trains puissent circuler à l'heure. Et, plus important encore, pour réduire le risque de collision entre les trains. En 1836, le gouvernement belge a mis sur pied un vaste projet pour installer des lunettes méridiennes et des méridiennes à différents endroits du pays.
